  • Children's book ‘Alina and Eco’ wins award in the category ‘Excellent Communications Design – Books and Calendar’

The children’s book ‘Alina and Eco’ has won the German Design Award 2025 in the category ‘Excellent Communications Design – Books and Calendars’. This prestigious international design award recognises innovative projects that address current global challenges with outstanding design and social relevance.

According to the jury, the children's book ‘Alina and Eco’ succeeds in addressing the importance of aluminium recycling in an accessible and child-friendly way: ‘The combination of informative content and sensitive illustrations conveys a complex topic in a vivid way.’

‘Alina and Eco’ was created in collaboration between the communications agency MINT and the aluminium rolling and recycling company Speira, which only appears as the publisher but does not appear in the content. The jury was particularly impressed by this restraint, which emphasises the book's educational claim. The award recognises the project not only for its creative design, but also for its valuable contribution to education – a success that makes the entire team proud.

For both MINT and Speira, this award is an important milestone and a confirmation of their commitment to sustainable and conscious communication design. ‘Alina and Eco’ shows how design can make complex topics tangible and familiarise children with the importance of environmental protection.
